Obituary

Louise Simon departed this world on September 30, 2017 at the young age of 91 surrounded with the love of her family and caregivers. She will be remembered as a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend with a wicked sense of humor and great compassion for others. She also will lovingly be remembered for her competitiveness and love of a fun-filled life. No matter if she was playing basketball or softball in her early years, dominos, cards, or bowling in her adult years, Louise always wanted to win. She hated to lose! It didn't...

It didn't matter who she was competing against, even her grandchildren, she loved to play and loved to win. She also loved watching sports with her two favorites being NASCAR and OU football - even though all 3 of her children graduated from OSU. Louise loved music and dancing, especially square dancing.

Through the years, it would be hard to estimate how many of those colorful, big skirted square dance dresses she owned. She always wanted to look her best when she went out making sure her hair, makeup, and nails were all done up in style. Besides her compassionate side, this was her "prissy" side. Later in life, two of her favorite pastimes were traveling around on cruise ships to various locations or spending time on the slot machines at the casinos. She had no problem staying out late until all hours of the night, or usually early mornings, with various siblings or friends. There are many more wonderful, caring, and funny stories that family and friends will remember about Louise and the many smiles she brought to everyone.

She will be greatly missed. Louise is survived by her three children; Mike Simon and wife Suzy Abbett Simon of The Woodlands, TX, Steve Simon and wife Karen Hicks Simon of Leland, NC, and daughter Becky Simon Lorton and long time partner Glen Brown of Las Cruces, NM. Her grandchildren, Shellie Ennis, Jennifer Johnson, Brent Simon, Jason Simon, Kevin Simon, and Brian Lorton along with 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Joyce Posey, Jo Ray and husband Paul Ray along with brothers Jerry Bridges and Bob Bridges and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Leo Simon, her parents, and sisters Marie Crowe and Betty Lucille Bridges.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Midwest City. Interment will follow in Arlington Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Alzheimer's Association to help find the cause and cure for dementia diseases. (alz.org/oklahoma)
