James "Jim" Lloyd Kipps, 84, was born in Carlisle, PA, on Sept. 3, 1932, and went to Heaven on Aug. 4, 2017. Jim served in the Army National Guard and retired from civil service at Tinker Air Force Base. He was a devoted Christian and attended First Southern Baptist Church of Del City. He loved spending time with family, enjoyed "junking" at flea markets and auctions and refinishing antique furniture to resale at An Affair of the Heart. He had a giving heart, loved unconditionally and was a dedicated supporter of St. Jude and many...

James "Jim" Lloyd Kipps, 84, was born in Carlisle, PA, on Sept. 3, 1932, and went to Heaven on Aug. 4, 2017. Jim served in the Army National Guard and retired from civil service at Tinker Air Force Base. He was a devoted Christian and attended First Southern Baptist Church of Del City. He loved spending time with family, enjoyed "junking" at flea markets and auctions and refinishing antique furniture to resale at An Affair of the Heart. He had a giving heart, loved unconditionally and was a dedicated supporter of St. Jude and many other charities. Jim was an amazing man, made a positive impact on everyone blessed to know him and will be missed by all who love him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Delores "Granny"; his parents, Harold and Dessie; his brother, Robert Lee and sister, Elega Mae. He is survived by his son, James Kipps Jr. and wife Marilyn; daughter, Elega Westfall and husband Troy; and brother, Harold "Junior" Kipps. Jim "Pappy" was especially proud of his seven grandchildren: Jimmy Kipps, Ritchie Jennings, Rachel Hinson, Amber Mendoza, Misty Cooper, Aaron Kipps and Tiffany Warren. He also treasured his 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Graveside services will be held Tues, Aug. 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Arlington Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of choice.
